The monsters won't actually take that long to add since it's mostly just loading and grabbing their values at the moment. The main hold up is very limited time, and lots of miscellaneous bug fixing (I've encountered several game breaking bugs that crash the editor/engine and am fixing them). There's also several improvements that I've made to some of the events as I test everything.

Good to know this is still being updated. That 2013 last update note on the main page had me worried another wonderful project had been cast into the lake of burning projects people in our hobby tend to visit so often.

If I can help, I'll do so.

Hello, I'm Swift, by the way :)

For those that are new to the scene, this project is currently a solo development project. Yes, there will be progress, but it takes a lot of time and effort. Justin (Tuxinator) will post updates when he can. Please don't keep asking him for updates unless there has been a significant delay between posts (much longer than 4 days).

Areas that help is currently most welcome are in developing tutorials and documentation, content, and also bug reports. Since this is a solo project, he is not accepting code revisions at this time.

Thanks.

So the main thing that's been causing a major slow down in the amount of time I have to develop is getting everything situated for going to DigiPen this fall. I only have a month left and have been unable to get the amount I still need in student loans. So now I've setup a GoFundMe account (http://www.gofundme.com/avl32o) to see if I can get the funds needed to attend. It's been my dream to go to DigiPen for seven years now so it's pretty nerve racking to be so close to going yet still having a high possibility of not being able to attend.

I've been doing what I can when I can on Open RPG Maker's engine in the mean time, just taking a little longer since I don't have as much time at the moment.

Oh btw. Will the engine support scripts?

Scripting will not be supported as this project is being specifically designed for artists, who don't know any programmers, to be able to make, and sell, a full commercial game. Plus scripting support is not a necessary feature for what Open RPG Maker is designed to do.

Well, events ARE form of scripting, however you'll look at it. It just have different syntax and you don't have to enter commands by hand (which reduces probability of syntax errors to 0%), just parameters of the function you are executing.
